Laboratory Organization

 

Assoc. Prof. Simay İkier, the director of the laboratory, received her undergraduate and master's degrees from Boğaziçi University and her doctoral degree from the University of Toronto. She specializes in cognitive psychology. She conducts research on memory and attention processes, the interaction of these processes with emotional and social factors, and their changes with healthy aging.

There are undergraduate, master's, and doctoral-level students in the laboratory. Master's and doctoral students conduct their thesis studies or independent research under the supervision of the laboratory director. Undergraduate students gain research experience by reading the related literature, recruiting and testing, and contributing to data entry and analyses.

There are various working groups in the laboratory. Students join study groups depending on their interests and the participant samples they can access.
